Day 2Bhuj → Dhordo (White Rann) → BhujAround 85 km each way. The craft villages of Bhujodi and Nirona en route, then the White Rann for sunset. Permit is issued at the Bhirandiyara checkpost. Overnight Bhuj or a Rann Utsav tent.
Day 3Bhuj → Mandvi → BhujAbout 60 km each way to Mandvi for the beach, the Vijay Vilas Palace and the wooden shipbuilding yard. A relaxed day after two long ones.
Day 4Bhuj → AhmedabadThe 330 km run home. Leave in the morning to be back by evening.

Figures are calculated from typical per-kilometre rates over roughly 900 km and exclude toll, state permit, parking, driver allowance and night halt charges.

Do I need a permit for the White Rann?Yes. A permit is required for the Dhordo area and is issued at the Bhirandiyara checkpost on the way. Carry photo ID for everyone in the vehicle. Your driver will know the stop.

When is Rann Utsav?Usually November to February, with the exact dates announced each year. It is peak season for Kutch — book the vehicle and your accommodation well in advance, as both sell out.

Is the White Rann worth seeing outside Rann Utsav?The salt desert is there from roughly November through March once the monsoon water has dried. Outside the festival it is quieter and cheaper, though the tent city and cultural programme are not running.

How far is the White Rann from Bhuj?Dhordo is about 85 km, roughly 1.5 hours each way. Bhuj is the practical base — there is little reason to stay closer unless you have booked the tent city.

Can this be done in 3 days?Yes, by dropping the Mandvi day. Two days of it would then be pure driving, so four days is the version worth doing if you can.
